The YOGA media system is a truly amazing gadget

Most of the people hearing about “thinking outside the box” could picture a square box in their minds... save for designer Tommy Chen. His box is a multimedia one, and boasts a most unusual (yet simply magnificent) shape, despite the fact that it is loaded with quite a heap of the functions you'd expect to find in a larger system. If alluring design doubled by modularity and a stunning home-decor value is your game, then the YOGA will definitely be your toy.

Seeing the YOGA for the very first time will trigger a lot of ideas, which are bound to be rather contradictory: some may think it is an intelligent vacuum cleaner like those you see coming from Japan, while others might say it looks very much like an air purifier/ion generator.

Well, it's clear that Tommy Chen has created a spectacular shape that's as pleasant as it is uncommon. The disc-like media system is made from several independent components, each with its own functionality, and linked together via their own wireless network. You have an iPod dock, a mobile phone dock, a CD player and an amplifier, which can be all further docked one into another, generating the disc shape we were telling you about above.

On the visual side, the YOGA is one of the gadgets that couldn't look better, so to speak: with carefully trimmed shapes and rounded edges, this media system is easy to integrate in pretty much any décor, save for the over-conservative ones. Moreover, taking the pieces from their nesting position and having them arranged in various corners of the room gives them a strong personality, as it emphasizes their apparent independence. Yet, they remain linked to each other, and function as one single gadget aiming to reach every corner of your residence and endow it with its refined, flowing presence.

YOGA is the graduation project of Mr. Chen, and with such promising design maybe we'll hear more about him in the future.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
