An early build with support for add-ons is now available for download

Opera has just announced plans to improve its mobile browsers with extensions. The same add-ons that have been available for the desktop version might soon go live on the mobile iteration as well.

It appears that some devs have been quietly working on adding extensions to Opera Mobile, but there’s no guarantee that the company will actually release a final build with support for these extensions.

For the time being, those who want to try out how it works can head over to Opera Labs and download an experimental build that supports add-ons.

Keep in mind that this is a very early Labs release and the design is not final. There’s an Android version available for download, along with some extension-enabled Opera Mobile Emulator Labs builds that allows users to test extensions in a desktop-based Opera Mobile environment.
