If one was to ask how far it is from all-jade fountain pens to breathtaking audiophile loudspeakers selling for very large sums of money, I guess we'd all say that these two can hardly be put in the same sentence.[admark=1]

Well, it seems like the guys at Loiminchay have completely different ideas: after becoming renowned for their fine choice pens, they have seriously considered taking a step forward and have already made it! Loiminchay Audio is the name of the new division that plans to enter the battle of expensive and luxurious audiophile loudspeakers at the very CES 2008.

The new series comprises three new models and as far as they look, these units are really going to make a strong statement regarding design and grace. The transducers' design is made in new Your by Loiminchay's owner, Mr. Patrick Chu and then they are crafted in China under strict quality supervision. The cabinets are made from solid multi-ply birch, bored out to their shape and then finished with no less than 16 layers of lacquer.

The Loiminchay Degas is a loorstand mounted bookshelf monitor for moderate rooms, running with an exquisite 6.5" ceramic midrange/bass driver extending down to an incredible 35Hz and a diamond tweeter. Sells for $30,000-$32,500 in clear or piano lacquer, respectively. The Chagall is a floorstanding loudspeaker coming with a massive bass cabinet made from MultiPly Laminate and sporting a leather-clad concrete board 1-inch thick, for impeccable rigidity and imperviousness to resonance. Equipped with the same Diamond Tweeter, the Loiminchay Chagall sells for $48,500 in clear and $53,500 in piano lacquer.

The third, most impressive and expensive speaker in the Loiminchay series is the Kandinsky: a sculptural, rounded and almost organic bass cabinet and a mind-blowing 2" beryllium high-compression driver loaded in an incredible, all-wood 19" horn, reaching up to 27kHz. The Loiminchay Kandinsky sells for prices starting at $45,000 and topping at a painful $75,000 price per pair, for solid cherry finish.

Now, we'll all wait for the CES 2008 for complete specs. And start saving!
