US-based photographic accessories maker ExpoImaging has recently announced the availability of the new Ray Flash 2 universal ring flash adapter.

ExpoImaging Ray Flash 2 is a hotshoe flash adapter that will redirect your speedlight light into a ring shape, creating that beautiful circular highlights in your subject's eyes sought by portrait and fashion photographers. Besides that, the Ray Flash 2 can also be used for macro photography to evenly light your subject and get a perfect exposure.

The Ray Flash successor comes with a universal flash head mount that features a spring-loaded clamp, which allows you to securely attach the Ray Flash 2 to various models of speedlights. Moreover, the new model's height can be adjusted up and down in order to compensate for various camera and speedlight heights.

“Ray Flash 2's lower profile compared to the original Ray Flash makes it even more portable for location photographers,” said the manufacturer.

To accommodate as many digital SLR cameras as possible, Ray Flash 2 comes in two different sizes (long and short), especially designed to fit shorter entry-level DSLRs as well as the taller high-end digital single lens reflex cameras.

“We are pleased to be able to introduce the new Ray Flash 2 to U.S. Photographers. When the original Ray Flash was created, location photographers were astonished to find that they could use it to achieve ring flash-style lighting using their speedlights. Now, the Ray Flash 2 accommodates a much wider variety of DSLRs and speedlights with its adjustable and more affordable design,” said Erik Sowder, ExpoImaging CEO.

ExpoImaging Ray Flash 2 is now available for purchase from the online ExpoImaging Store at a price of $139.95 / €100.

In November 2013, ExpoImaging also launched a new version of the popular ExpoDisc incident light measuring tool that features a newly developed mount and custom warming gels.
