While promoting his latest movie, “RED 2,” Bruce Willis has been making a lot of headlines for all the wrong reasons. Hot on the heels of Sylvester Stallone’s calling him out on Twitter for being “greedy and lazy,” Willis throws action movies under the bus.

The irony in his most recent statements is obvious, since Willis made a name for himself – and a fortune too – by starring mostly in this kind of films.

However, he says, once you’ve done one you’ve pretty much done them all, he says, as cited by AceShowbiz.

“Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job. When you have seen a few fireballs, it’s not exciting anymore,” he says.

“I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I'm a bit bored of it now,” Willis continues.

Even so, a paycheck is a paycheck.

“I am very clear with who I am. I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, mega-projects, medium-sized, even science fiction,” Willis continues.

Speaking of paychecks, it was precisely the question of money that got him booted off the upcoming, third “Expendables” movies, as Sylvester Stallone announced on Twitter and we informed you at the time.

Willis wanted $4 million (€3.01 million) for 4 days on the set to reprise his character, but Stallone would only pay him $3 million (€2.2 million) and, in return, agree to cut down on the number of days of shooting, to just 3.

The former wouldn’t even hear of it, so the latter went ahead and ditched him and got Harrison Ford instead.

He also voiced his disappointment on social media, saying that acting like this is a sure career killer. Willis is yet to respond to this.
