Over the years we have grown accustomed with seeing R2-D2's image being used for all sort of devices, but is hard to think of a role that suits the drone better than the one Sega Toys has for it when it built the R2-D2 Planetarium.

While this may look like a toy to you, Sega's representatives are quick to point out that its Home Star series planetarium are much more than that.

Compared to other such devices, this solution uses the same optical projection system as commercial planetariums which is capable of displaying no less than 10,000 stars.

That's an impressive number no matter which way you look at it, the only disappointment that I have being that none of these are existing stars.

Still, for the 6825 Japanese Yen, about $89 US or 64 Euros, this is a pretty sweet deal provided that it will ever make its way out of Japan.
