Solving mysteries and puzzles defines the human species as we know it and it is because of this native curiosity that we have made our greatest achievements. In order to feed an ever inquisitive mind, we also need to play games so that we can explore the fun side of solving puzzles. This is where titles such as the “Serpent of Isis” come in hand.

Hidden object puzzle games such as these stir the curiosity of both children and grownups especially because they give a sense of involvement within a larger picture. For instance, the Serpent of Isis game is based around the theft of an ancient artwork that has been discovered by the main character’s father. This puts you in the position of searching for the lost object and keeping a sharp eye out for any clues that you might stumble on.

The scenarios that you have to explore are more than captivating and the graphical details have not been spared. Each location has its own beauty in both color and setting. Every clue that you discover will take you one step closer to finding out who stole the piece.

What sets the Serpent of Isis apart from other hidden object games is the fact that, in time, you gather a list of suspects from where you get to discover the true perpetrator. All of your assumptions are based upon the clues gathered from each location so that, in the end, you can put them together and expose the thief.

If you are a fan of these types of games, you will notice that you will be given a list of items to search for at the start of each scenario. The downside is that you cannot view an exact picture of how every object looks like. This would be great especially because it would be a lot easier to find what you are looking for, and let’s not forget that not everyone speaks English flawlessly. Visual aid would be more than welcome when searching for clues.

I would have to say that for a game of its type, Serpent of Isis manages to capture your attention and what’s more important, it keeps you focused on your goal. If you are a competitive person and you love a good challenge, then you will definitely enjoy this game.

If you really want to give the title a go, you can choose to download the sixty-minute trial play time game, before actually buying the full version for 19.99 dollars. If you ask me, the game is worth it mostly because of the great artwork and thrill of discovering a new clue that can bring you closer to finding out the criminal. Try it and solve as many puzzles as you can.

Here are some snapshots of the application in action:
