Ever since Google announced Glass, scammers have been busy setting up all sorts of websites in an attempt to lure users to surveys and other types of malicious schemes.

Experts from security firm Sophos have identified another scheme. Spammer, apparently from China, are trying to trick users with a cleverly designed website that advertises Google Glass pre-orders.

The site in question, googleglass-presale.com, was registered a short while ago, apparently by an individual from Brazil. The WHOIS information might not be genuine, but the website is certainly not run by Google.

So what’s the catch? Those who want to pre-order Google Glass must pay $499 (380 EUR) plus VAT via PayPal.

Of course, those who fall for it never get a Google Glass, at least not from these crooks. On the other hand, the scammers might make a considerable profit by duping unsuspecting internauts.

Beware of such websites. If you want to know everything there is about Google Glass, be sure to follow the articles posted on our Webmaster section.
