Security researchers from Malware Must Die have come across the source code for some interesting pieces of malware on a German torrent website. They’ve later identified the same data being served on a website hosted in Sweden, possibly by the same individual.

“The malware source is a bit old, mostly are data from 3-4years ago, most of them are bots/botnet clients source codes of various malicious implementation and some of them are still considered a ‘useable’ stuff,” experts noted.

The source code belongs to a piece of ransomware, the ZeuS Trojan, the client for a UNIX bot, an SQL Bruter client, and an IRC Worm.

Malware Must Die says it will not make the code public, but it is willing to share it with trusted researchers, authorities, and other reputable members of the IT security industry.
