The hacktivist collectives behind OpIsrael have announced their intentions to launch a similar operation against the US on May 7. Experts from Radware, who have been monitoring the hackers’ activities, say we should expect 4 attack methods.

First of all, they will probably exploit common vulnerabilities to perform website defacement and to leak information from databases.

Secondly, they will probably launch bandwidth saturation attacks by utilizing distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) tools such as LOIC and HOIC.

They might also utilize tools such as Slowloris, which consumes web server resources by launching what’s known as “low and slow” attacks.

Finally, experts warn that if Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters join OpUSA, we should expect to see DDOS attacks coming from dedicated attack servers.

“These attacks could cause huge traffic peaks and will be harvesting the power of server based botnets such as Brobot (aka Itsoknoproblembro),” Yaniv Balmas of Radware noted.
