Many people aren’t aware of the risks of oversharing information on the Internet. Sharing too many personal details with the world, combined with falling victim to a phishing scam can lead to some nasty things.

Belgian financial institution Febelfin has performed an experiment to show just how much harm cybercriminals and fraudsters can cause to a person.

In an effort to promote safe internet banking, and the SafeInternetBanking.be website, the organization has put a real victim to the test.

By using the information he shared on his Facebook account, and by gaining access to his bank account with the aid of a phishing email, they have managed to gradually take over his life.

Take a look at the interesting video to see the victim’s reaction when he finds out that someone is making hotel reservations and buying expensive items on his behalf.
