One of the hottest movies of the summer will probably be the Sylvester Stallone written and directed “The Expendables.” Not only does it include and all-macho, all-stellar cast and insane action scenes, but it will also stand as testament that 60-year-olds can still lead an action film to box office glory. Speaking of growing old, the entire cast of the film is like a living and breathing ode to plastic surgery, MakeMeHeal writes.

“Expendables” stars Stallone, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke and even includes a cameo from none other than the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who agreed to it as a personal favor to an old fried. Other stars that appear in the flick are Jason Statham, Jet Li, Danny Trejo and countless others, but it’s the first four that are of interest from a surgical point of view – because they all underwent massive surgery to erase all signs of growing old, with Willis probably doing it in the less obvious manner.

“Arnold Schwarzenegger is a 62 year old man. Now, honestly do 62 year old men look as good as him? He’s juiced with steroids and has had two heart operations. We hate to out manly men like Arnold, but his face is tight, his skin is not wrinkled, his jawline is anything but saggy. Duh! If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it is a facelift, chin adjustment, necklift and probably a laundry list of injectables and other procedures… he looks great. Congrats to his plastic surgeon,” surgeon Dr. Richard Ellenbogen, who has not treated Arnold, says for the aforementioned e-zine.

Bruce Willis too looks great – too great for his age. In his case, though, whatever procedure he’s had done is less obvious but he still looks too good for his 55 years. From this, the e-zine concludes Bruce may have had a facelift, lots of Botox and other fillers (Restylane). To smoothen the appearance of wrinkles, the actor may have also had chemical peels or laser resurfacing, with the impressive result of having a face like a 40-year-old, if not actually better. Not the same can be said about Stallone (64) or Rourke (57), whose faces even show the tell-tale signs of plastic surgery, including stretched out skin and lack of mobility.

“The pictures of Sylvester Stallone show signs of face and forehead lift – including visible scars. His brows also show an unnatural peak and skin bunching laterally. He does look improved from previous post-op photos, presumably the improvement has come as the swelling has resolved and the tissues have softened,” Surgeon Dr. David Shafer says of Stallone. “Obviously, Mickey Rourke looks as if he is overdone and stretched. He probably had cheek implants, face lift, brow lift, upper blepharoplasty and lip fillers, possibly something permanent,” Dr. Paul S. Nassif, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, California, explains for MakeMeHeal.
