Microsoft confirms that it's planning on releasing plenty of different custom Xbox One console designs this fall and winter holiday seasons in order to mark specific games, but unfortunately, it can't really sell through its retail partners all the different ideas it has.

The Xbox One has already been around for over an year, and while the console has mainly been sold in its glossy black version, there have been some limited-edition designs that turned it white or applied various decorations in honor of major releases like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and other such things.

Expect plenty of personalized Xbox One devices this fall season

According to Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg, the global director of Games Marketing, who talks on the Inner Circle Podcast, via DualShockers, the custom console design team has many great ideas when it comes to personalizing the Xbox One to suit various games, but unfortunately, not all projects can then be sold to the company's retail partners, due to supply constraints.

However, this won't stop Microsoft from selling some custom Xbox One consoles this fall season, as plans are already coming into place to help them reach stores.

"I know some of the things we’re planning for this Holidays, and I think you’ll be pretty pleased with some of the limited edition plans, and there’s some other things that we’re still finalizing. But we have a lot of great games, and so I’m excited to see where we land. At this point, it’s February, so we’re not announcing our limited edition hardware at this point, but the teams are going to have some good stuff, and it’s good to hear there’s an appetite for more," he explains.

While Greenberg doesn't want to say what games might get the custom Xbox One treatment, it's quite likely that they will include Halo 5: Guardians, arguably the biggest exclusive game coming to Microsoft's platform, not to mention the next Call of Duty or maybe even Forza Motorsport 6.

Expect to hear more about Microsoft's custom Xbox One plans in the following months.
