Starring an armored princess

I've recently reviewed King's Bounty: The Legend and I've found the game to be very good, with engaging battles, cool characters and a lot of humor. Now, developers Katauri Interactive and publishers 1C Company are announcing that they plan to build on the first game to release an add-on for the game.

It will be set in the future of the universe, and will track the adventures of Princess Amelie as she tries to find out what happened to her savior and teacher, the renowned hero Bill Gilbert (which is the standard name of the character you play in the original game).

The new content will be dubbed Armored Princess, and the developers are promising a lot of new stuff, alongside the already solid adventuring and battle engines. A whole new race, presumably with their own continent, the Pangolins, will be introduced and they are described as being “bloodthirsty.” There will also be new bosses, with Borer Robot, Gremlin, Archdemon Baal and other weird creatures joining the Tortoise, the Giant Spider and the Kraken.

The princess will have to rely on two new tricks to overcome the new challenges. Her horse will be able to gain a flying ability, effectively turning himself into a Pegasus, and there will also be a dragon introduced to the game, tamed and ready to serve, presumably to replace the Chest of Rage from the original game. The Dragon will level up as his abilities are used, and will gain access to more powers of destruction, like summoning volcanoes, as he turns into a battle-ready creature. It also seems that the charming armored Amelie will be able to hire companions to go adventuring alongside her.

The Armored Princess add-on will likely prove a good addition to King's Bounty, as far as Katauri manages to offer a not too long playing experience that delivers the same solid combat of the original, together with some innovative new mechanics, like the afore-mentioned dragon.
