With all the craziness surrounding the tablet market, and the many companies that want to join in on the fun, it was inevitable that certain plans and roadmaps would suffer modifications. The ExoPC slate is a suitable example of this, seeing how it was delayed multiple times. In fact, it seems as though the tablet has not seen sufficient delays yet, considering that it has once again been pushed back.

Apparently, the tablet's makers have decided that the CPU they had intended to use, a Z6xx, is no longer a viable option, which is why the company has decided to adopt the Pine Trail platform. This means that the upcoming tablet PC will be powered by the Intel Atom N450 CPU, with a clock speed of 1.66GHz. In return for this upgrade, end-users will have to wait a few months longer before they can acquire the electronic.

The other system specs of the mobile PC include a memory capacity of 2GB, a Broadcom Crystal HD chip (which confers 1,080p playback capabilities upon the device), Intel integrated graphics, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a mini HDMI port, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and an SD card reader. As for internal storage, consumers will be able to select between a 32GB and a 64GB SSD. Finally, the tablet boasts an 11.6-inch capacitive multi-touch screen with a maximum resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

The official product page aptly labels the gadget as “a powerful Windows netbook with a multi-touch interface to browse the web, play flash games, watch TV and movies, listen [to] music and news, read books, organize your photos, download apps,” etc. The ExoPC even comes pre-loaded with the Windows 7 OS (with a special UI layer). Set to debut on September 7 in the US, France and Canada, the 32GB SSD slate will carry a price tag of $599, the equivalent of 549 Euro. Information may be found here.
