Exim 4.82, a message transfer agent (MTA) developed at the University of Cambridge for use on Unix systems connected to the Internet, has been released and is now available for download.

The developers have launched a new version of Exim 4.82, integrating a large number of experimental features and various changes.

“This release of Exim includes two incompatible fixes: a hints database doesn't get updated in a specific corner case, and the SMTP acceptance line is now logged by default in the sent message line,” reads the official announcement.

For example, experimental DMARC and PRDR have been implemented, new command line options have been integrated for better sendmail compatibility, Cyrus SASL now sets host;port properties, and various DNS enhancements have been implemented.
