14 DAY TRIAL // Rockstar Games confirms that existing Grand Theft Auto 5 owners on the PS3 or Xbox 360 platforms will get a variety of exclusive content when getting the game once again on the three new platforms – PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
GTA 5 launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in September of last year and broke sales records around the world, delivering intense open world action both in the form of the solid single-player story campaign but also in the hectic yet varied GTA Online multiplayer mode.
After plenty of speculation, Rockstar Games confirmed this summer that GTA 5 was coming to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms, with the title hitting first the two new consoles in November of this year and then the PC in early 2015.
Returning fans will be treated to plenty of rewards
Not a lot of details have been shared since then, but now the studio confirms on its Newswire that existing fans who own GTA 5 on the PS3 or Xbox 360 will be treated to a huge amount of rewards once they upgrade to the PC, PS4, or Xbox One versions of the game.
Besides offering special vehicles, weapons, and other such things, most of them are linked to various adventures and challenges scattered across the game's open world, so returning fans are in for some great surprises once they re-purchase the game.
"To reward loyal GTAV fans for coming back to the newer, more detailed version of Los Santos and Blaine County, we've created an array of exclusive items specifically for these players - with each of them connected to activities designed for you to experience the game's massive world in new and exciting ways," the studio explains.
Surprises include new vehicles, weapons, challenges, and more
Among the actual rewards are some fresh vehicles, like the Dodo seaplane, the Kraken submarine, a better blimp, the Imponte Duke O'Death muscle car, or the Cheval Marshall monster truck. Each is linked to different activities and goals, so unlocking them is rather fun.
There are also new activities, such as a murder mystery for Michael to solve, a wildlife photography challenge for Franklin to complete, or special stock car races to win. You need to also find plenty of hidden surprises and you can wield a special Rail Gun and a Hatchet to get rid of your enemies.
