“Twilight” fans get ready: the campaign for this fall’s biggest and most anticipated theatrical release, “New Moon” of “The Twilight Saga,” is about to kick into high gear with the release of a new trailer. The official teaser has long hit the net, so now it’s time for fans to get a fresh taste of what’s coming their way with the second installment, and they’ll be doing so with the release of “Bandslam,” starring Vanessa Hudgens, The Examiner informs.

The release date has been officially announced by Summit as August 14. While this still means a little while to go until seeing the highly anticipated trailer, it’s still better than nothing at all, fans point out on dedicated forums. There is also the high possibility that the exclusive trailer pops online minutes after being previewed with “Bandslam” in theaters, but judging by what happened with the first trailer (that leaked online shortly after release as well), this should not stop hype for the film from building up, it is further being said.

“On August 14th, we will get to see another [trailer]. To be released during the theatrical previews for Summit Entertainment’s next picture (with Vanessa Hudgens, Aly Michalka and Gaelen Connell) ‘Bandslam,’ [it] will officially be the newest preview for ‘New Moon.’ The preview will be shown during the film’s opening weekend, and it will only be available for viewing on the ‘Bandslam’ preview screens.” The Examiner informs.

What this means is that not all theaters playing “Bandslam” will also include the latest exclusive “New Moon” trailer, so “Twilight” fans looking to see it in theaters and not on the Internet (in questionable quality) must choose their locations with the utmost care. As the aforementioned publication also says, the exclusive new “New Moon” footage will only be shown during the opening weekend of “Bandslam” and only on preview screens.

As fans must remember, the teaser for “New Moon,” released on the occasion of the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year, was a hit with fans, scoring impressive figures in terms of views, as we were also telling you a while back. Summit recorded 4.2 million views on its MySpace page and another 1.6 million on MTV. Aside from these 5.8 million views (registered in the first 24 hours alone), the YouTube versions of the teaser trailer were also extremely popular, some of them even reaching 3 million views in the same timeframe.
