Google Chrome, a browser built on the WebKit layout engine that aims to be minimalistic and versatile at the same time, is now at version 24.0.1312.68.

A new stable version of the Google Chrome browser has been made available exclusively for the Linux platform, fixing just one pestering bug that affected Linux kernel 3.8 RC4 on Ubuntu 13.04 64-bit.

The problem fixed by this patch has been confirmed by a lot of people. Any website that contained a Flash Player, such as YouTube for example, didn’t load video. In fact, the Flash player failed to work completely.

The bug only affected the stable branch of Google Chrome. Both Mozilla Firefox 19 and the development version of Google Chrome worked without a hitch with the new Linux kernel .

A comprehensive description of the bug has been posted in an official changelog.
