Fans of Diddy and Ciara can access exclusive content from the two artist’s latest albums with a little help from Microsoft. Specifically, both performers are leveraging Microsoft Tag in order to give users a taste of “Last Train to Paris” and “Basic Instinct” via @iamdiddy and @ciara respectively.

Microsoft Tag is the software giant’s barcode technology which allows users with mobile phones to easily scan tags using the cameras on their devices and immediately access a variety of content without performing any other action.

Of course, they still need to get the Microsoft Tag client installed on their phone, and they can do so via http://gettag.mobi (all major mobile platforms are supported).

For Microsoft it started on December 14th, when the company launched “12 Days of Tag” with Diddy.

“Between now and December 25, Microsoft Tag and Diddy will release exclusive content from his new album, Last Train to Paris, and donate $50,000 to charity,” noted Elliott Lemenager, Microsoft Tag Online Community Manager.

“Each day @iamdiddy will post a tweet with a Tag that allows you to access exclusive content from Diddy himself or vote for which charity you would like to receive a $10,000 donation.”

“If you have any questions about the Tag Reader, how this campaign works or how to create your own Tag, reach out to us on Twitter and Facebook.”

Just a day later, the software giant announced another partnership, this time with Ciara, much in the same lines as the one with Diddy, minus the donation.

“Each day Ciara will post a tweet with a Tag that allows you to access exclusive content from Ciara herself. Content will include exclusive videos, live performances, personal messages and more.

“Each Tweet and Facebook post from Ciara will contain a link to a Microsoft Tag (dotted image below). You will need to scan the Tag with your smart phone to access the exclusive content,” Microsoft revealed.
