Since the Google acquisition in October 2006, YouTube was continuously in the spotlights because it caused several lawsuits because it published videos without approval. For example, Viacom, the provider of many well-known televisions such as MTV and Comedy Central, demanded YouTube to remove almost 100.000 clips from the website because users uploaded it without their approval. Today, I'm honored to inform you that YouTube just made a partnership with the well known football team Chelsea FC, one
of the most powerful clubs in the entire world. As you might know, Chelsea is owned by Roman Abramovich, a Russian business man that is currently one of the richest persons on the planet.
The deal made by YouTube and Chelsea FC will bring exciting football content on a special page designed by Google that will provide access to the latest news concerning the English club. All the videos will be offered by Chelsea Digital Media that currently provides football matches and information about the Chelsea team and players.
It seems like Google already released the website designed especially for The Blues' fans, offering quick access to numerous videos stored on YouTube directly from the page. As you can see, the Chelsea FC YouTube Page is quite attracting, displaying a logo with the most popular players from the team as well as the most voted clips available on the site.
"Chelsea's chief executive, Peter Kenyon, said: "We are delighted to work with YouTube. Chelsea is the first football club to move into what is clearly one of the fastest-growing new media platforms. This will allow us to offer our fans exciting Chelsea FC content in a very unique way, as well as an opportunity to reach a whole new audience," Guardian Unlimited reported.
