While many companies are offering previews of what products they will unveil at the upcoming CeBIT expo, Exceleram decided not to wait, so it officially released its newest memory products.

As end-users may or may not know, the DRAM industry has been experiencing a very slow period, in terms of sales.

With chip makers having accelerated advancement to new manufacturing processes, chip capacities and, thus, inventories, rose by quite a bit.

This has actually been going on for months, since late 2010, and is what caused the stark decline in chip ASPs (average selling prices).

Basically, DRAM has become so cheap that some PC makers doubled the default capacity and new modules and kits ended up less expensive than one may have expected.

For companies, this spells financial decline, but customers should find the drastic price decrease to be quite convenient.

Regardless, the rate at which new DDR comes out doesn't seem to have been affected, as Exceleram is revealed to have delivered a new series.

“The EP series includes memory(kits) based on timing latencies of (currently) 1333mhz, but with "air" up to the top, so that overclockers have their fun,” says Steffen Eisenstein, Product Manager at Exceleram in the press release.

The EP-Series is composed of a 2 GB module, a 4 GB dual-channel kit and a 6GB triple-channel kit, all of them sharing most of the other specs, down to the 9-9-9-24 latencies.

Their base frequency (without overclocking) is of 1,333 MHz, common for such solutions, while the power required is 1.5V. Rippler Heatspreaders are also present, albeit not on the 2 GB module.

One should already find the heatsink-less standalone module for sale at 19 Euro. Unfortunately, the other two offerings have not been given prices yet.

For overclockers, attainable speeds are listed in the high scores list on Exceleram's official website.
