The past months saw quite a bunch of new memory products being released, especially of 4 GB capacities and above, since DRAM chips have become quite cheap, and it seems Exceleram just released some new DDR3 kits as part of the Rippler line.

Of all the IT market segments, the DRAM sectors is one that seems to be going through the worst phase, with prices having hit a literal bottom and remained there for weeks.

After all the process transitions of last year, oversupply became an issue for pretty much every memory maker out there.

That said, with DRAM chips so low, makers of systems are starting to implement 4 GB capacities as default on new systems.

Meanwhile, module and kit developers have been releasing newer and better solutions, even in capacities higher than what all but the most hardcore of enthusiasts can put to use.

Exceleram is one of those developers and its most recent line of DDR3 kits is dubbed Blue Rippler.

Those familiar with memory makers will know that, quite often, a memory's name is given by its cooling solution.

In this case, the newcomers are dubbed Blue Rippler because they all feature Rippler heatsinks of that particular color.

The smallest-capacity kit has 8 GB, being composed of two 4 GB modules, while the others have 12 GB (3 x 4GB) 16 GB (4 x 4GB) and 24 GB (6 x 4GB).

They work on Intel LGA 1155, 1156 and 1366 motherboards, as well as AM3 platforms from Advanced Micro Devices, at speeds of 1,333 MHz or 1,600 MHz and voltage of 1.5V, while the timings are of 9-9-9-24.

“Something special for the new Blue Rippler series is the high compatibility, you can use them for LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA 1366 and AM3. Thus the end customer don´t need much time to find the right memory for his system.” said Martim Reis Silva, Sales director Exceleram.
