A new video game development studio called Sumom Games, made up of game creators who have previously been involved with the STALKER series, announces that its first title is called Humans Must Answer and will offer a new take on the 2D side-scrolling space shooter.

In the game, players will become the pilots of a scout ship called The Golden Eagle, which is apparently crewed by a number of highly intelligent and dangerous chickens.

The ship reaches the limits of the Solar System and tries to make contact with the humans but the encounter soon turns to hostility and the chicken ship will have to fight through fleets of human ships and their robot allies as they try to reach the Sun and chart the area.

Humans Must Answer will see players explore areas, battle enemies, get hidden bonuses, fight bosses and experiment with a wide range of weapons and abilities in order to fight the combination that allows them to progress.

The team is also promising a complex story which is told via gameplay elements and a number of secret eggs that the chickens need to discover by exposing their ship to extra danger.

Eugeny Yatsuk, one of the co-founders of Sumom Games, says, “Knowing that we were going to be laid off, we prepared by starting to make our own game and teaching ourselves how to program. We were happy to do so, as we didn’t want to be cogs in the mechanism any more, but to oversee and work on every aspect of a game.”

The developer adds, “It was difficult for us to take this step when we previously had a job with a salary and all. It was quite scary actually, but the GSC layoffs provided the impulse that pushed us to start doing what we really wanted to do.”
