Klein Michael Thaxton – allegedly a former member of the US military – started posting on Facebook while keeping a man hostage in downtown Pittsburgh on the 16th floor of Three Gateway Center.

“This life im livin rite now I dnt want anymore ive lost everything and I aint gettn it back instead of walkin around all broke n [expletive] while [black people] stunt on me n [expletive] (sic),” he wrote.

His friends started sharing the posts and soon enough there were a lot of users encouraging him to do the right thing and set the hostage free.

Wired reports that shortly after his posts started going viral, his Facebook profile was suspended. Currently, the account seems to be working normally, but some of the messages he wrote during the incident have been removed.

Thaxton surrendered peacefully, but according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, this is not the first time when he has a run-in with the law. Back in March, he was arrested on carjacking suspicions.
