A 28-year-old man, just released from prison two weeks prior, happened to be at the right place at the right time, saving a two-year-old girl from a horrible death. He noticed the mother of the toddler screaming for help and rushed to pull the child out of the sewage-filled septic tank.

The two-year-old girl from Maricopa, Arizona is now alive thanks to some kind bystanders who rushed to her aid when she was in need. The toddler was walking with her mother when she stepped on a poorly-made rubber lid covering a septic tank and fell through it in the nasty sewage water.

The mother started screaming for help and a group of people from a nearby shop rushed to see what was happening. Among them was Henry Ricketts, a freshly released from jail felon who went head-first into the tank to pull out the little girl, notes NY Daily News.

He inhaled some of the sewage water and had to come out, but another man was lowered in, managing to fish out the lifeless child. Luckily for her, one of the people rushing to the scene was a nurse who started performing CPR, which successfully made the girl cough out some of the water and start breathing again.

Ambulances arrived and took the child to the hospital in order to offer her treatment and check for any infections she could have picked up from the septic tank filled with nasty water. She is expected to recover just fine in a few days.

Witnesses said that the men attempting to save the little girl didn't hesitate, not even for a moment, and their acts were very heroic, managing to avoid a tragedy. The septic tank has been covered up in order to avoid any other similar incidents from happening.

The 28-year-old ex-con, arrested in 2012 for drug-related illegal activities, is now something like a hero, making the headlines for his altruistic gesture.
