The quintuplets arrived last week and are all healthy

Scottish farmers Robert and Andrew Mackintosh have seen a lot of baby animals being born, but still they were shocked when an ewe at their farm in Glengolly in the Highlands gave birth to five little lambs.

The quintuplets arrived last week, beating one-in-a-million odds. What's even more surprising though is the fact that the Mackintosh brothers have beaten the odds for the second year in a row, as another sheep at their farm gave birth to quintuplets last year.

The newborn lambs, as well as the mother, are all doing just fine, Daily Mail says.

Andrew, who helped deliver the cute little babies, says the ewe's labor was not difficult, actually describing it as one of the easiest there has been at the farm this year.

“Despite the ewe giving birth to five lambs, it was a straightforward labor. The lambs came out of the mother one straight after the other without any difficulty,” he said.

“There were also no health problems with any of the lambs and, despite being quintuplets, they are all regular size.”

The baby animals were kept inside the barn for a few days, but now all five of them have been put out to graze. Given that they are all fit and healthy, the lambs are expected to develop normally.
