Actor Ewan McGregor started working with UNICEF to help children afflicted by poverty and urging the G-8 leaders to do something about the international help.
McGregor coordinated a three-day UNICEF program on Sunday in Dunblane, Scotland, where, children from eight developing countries and the G-8 nations - Britain, the United States, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Russia talked about poverty.
"Our aim at UNICEF is to try to get that manifesto taken to Gleneagles - maybe after the big show on Wednesday night - we'll see how we can get it there so they can actually have their voice heard by the leaders. That's the aim of the C-8 and I'm really proud of all the young people who have taken part," said McGregor.
"At stake, there is one preventable death every three seconds. Nearly 11 million children die every year from preventable diseases.
"More than 100 million children are unable to go to school, there are 15 million children orphaned by AIDS throughout the world and there are one billion children living in poverty around the globe.
"Next week at the G-8 summit these eight leaders are going to have at their finger tips the power to make extraordinary changes in the world, truly to make poverty history for these people."
