The issue is not isolated or localized to any console

Evolve just got off to a pretty good start, triggering mostly positive reviews, but the asymmetrical multiplayer shooter isn't without its share of problems.

The game pits a team of four hunters, each belonging to a different class, against a lumbering beast, on a variety of maps and game modes.

The beast has to sneak and prowl, devouring the local fauna until it can evolve to a state strong enough to wipe out the hunter team, and the hunters have to track the monster before that can occur, and work in tandem in order to take it down.

Players can choose from Assault, Support, Trapper and Medic, and each of the classes and individual characters in those classes has its own array of useful abilities to employ on the battlefield, ranging from protecting allies to diminishing the monster's combat prowess or trapping it inside a force field arena, preventing it from fleeing.

First-world problems are still annoying

Some players have reported losing all their hard-earned progress after logging into their accounts on another console than the one initially used for playing the game. The reason their progress is wiped is not known yet, but until developer Turtle Rock Studios manages to sort things out, you would do well to stick to one machine only.

Players on Reddit note that the issues occurs on both the Xbox One home console from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment from Sony, so it's not something to do with either platform holder.

The players report that it's not a universal issue, and that it's most likely due to a fault in the game's ability to synchronize with the cloud. Others mention that this also happened to them during Evolve's beta test, and that Turtle Rock Studios is still to get back to them regarding their feedback.

We're currently working on a review for Evolve, so stay tuned.
