Turtle Rock Studios confirms its latest character for the upcoming Evolve first-person shooter, in the form of Cabot, a Support-class hunter, sharing quite a few details as well as an actual video with the new monster killer in action.

Evolve promises to deliver an ambitious cooperative and competitive experience, as a team of four hunters group up to take out an imposing monster across all sorts of different maps.

While both developing your skills and planning ahead are key skills for the monster player, the hunters need to work together and complement their abilities in the best way possible.

As such, while it's great that you can choose characters from classes like Assault, Trapper, or Medic, the Support category is also quite important, as it can often make or break a successful hunt.

Cabot, the last support hunter, is official

After confirming quite a few different characters from the upcoming game, developer Turtle Rock now introduces the third and final member of the Support class, in the form of Cabot, a tough human that can help any battle.

According to the studio's website, in the story, Cabot was among the main characters who decided to stay on the alien planet Shear and try to help the colonists in front of the bloodthirsty monsters. As such, you can bet that his skills are quite special.

Cabot has quite a lot of great skills

First up, there's the Damage Amplifier, which is a special weapon that can lock onto a monster and immediately weaken its armor as well as its hide. As such, all damage done to the target is doubled. Bear in mind that the amplifier uses ammo, so reload often to ensure that it stays on for as long as possible.

Another great skill is Radioactive Dust Tagging, which sees Cabot call in a pod filled with radioactive dust to be dropped from space. The dust highlights every living thing in a radius of 60 meters for twenty seconds. As such, if the monster is in the zone, you can immediately spot it through walls and other such things.

The last and most impressive ability wielded by the support hunter is the Rail Cannon, which can even shoot through rocks and other obstacles. More specifically, the cannon fires rounds that hit the target directly if there's no obstruction. If it goes through something, like buildings or rocks, the round bursts into a cone for 40 meters. Anything in that cone takes 50% damage from the round.

In order to show off Cabot in action, a special video has just been made available, so check it out below.
