Turtle Rock Studios have done a wonderful thing today, releasing an interactive video showing a full match of their upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer shooter Evolve for the first time, allowing the entire world to see why they should get excited.

The video comes courtesy of the PlayStation Blog, allowing a good look at 2K's upcoming squad shooter on the PlayStation 4.

The cool thing about the video is that you can switch between the feed of any of the four hunters or the monster, along with a sixth channel with live commentary from Aaron Chambers and Chris Ashton, co-founder of Turtle Rock Studios.

For those unfamiliar with the concept of Evolve, the game has four players banding together as a team of hunters and going 4v1 against another player, taking control of a ferocious beast.

Players can select from a multitude of classes with very different roles and play styles, and monster controllers will be able to also select various upgrades while playing, being able to adapt in the best way possible to their current situation.

The unique premise really sets Evolve apart from other multiplayer shooters, and the trailer does the game justice, demonstrating how unique each of the classes' role is and how players have to cooperate in order to ensure victory, with some brilliant and engaging commentary.

The video allows gamers to get a look at the first four hunters from Evolve, Val the Medic, Griffin the Trapper, Markov the Assault, and Hank the Support, each of them playing a different role and bringing their own array of abilities to their side of the engagement.

The video also shows the first monster, the mighty Goliath, whose attacks include a charge, a leap attack, ranged rock throws, and fire breath.

The gameplay footage shows the two teams clashing in a formidable fast-paced encounter on the Forest Ruins map, outlining the general strategy and how the synergies between the hunters' abilities come together to overcome Goliath's superior strength.

Players can see how the neutral environment also has to be taken into account, with various hazards that users have to be aware of being able to change the tide of battle at a moment's notice.

The game was met with enthusiasm at last week's PAX East convention, the Evolve booth with its massive statue of a Goliath drawing huge crowds. And now, thanks to this great video, the entire world can get a preview of the upcoming game.

Evolve is currently set for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms, sometime during late summer 2014.
