Evolve brings forth a pretty complex first-person shooter experience and we've already gone through some tips on how to play a few classes as well as possible. Now, it's time to discuss one of the unsung heroes, the Support class, who can make or break a team of hunters.

Evolve launched last week and finally delivered its long-awaited multiplayer shooter recipe, which combines cooperative with competitive game modes to result in an asymmetric yet pretty balanced game.

Hunters work together to bring down the monster and we've already shared tips on how to be a good Trapper, Medic, or even Monster.

A Support player can make or break a game

In Valve's popular Dota 2 game, the Bastion announcer has a saying, "everybody wants to win but nobody wants to play support." In Evolve, you have to have a Support class in your team, but more often than not, it won't be played all that well.

First up, let's talk about the first character in the class - Hank. While his big heavy Laser Cutter weapon may make him seem to be an Assault character who deals heavy damage, he's still a support and his most important tool is the Shield Projector that can help strengthen the defense of another hunter.

Much like Val's healing gun, it leaves a trail back to you, so expect to be targeted by the monster. As soon as you see the creature come crashing towards you, pop the cloaking field and try to escape or at least regroup with the others. Last but not least, use the Orbital Barrage whenever possible, especially if you catch the monster while it's evolving.

Bucket is also a really good Support that can augment really well the Trapper class. His UAV can spot the monster and provide reconnaissance on the area, while his Sentry Guns provide enough damage to confuse the creature. Last but not least, his Guided Missile Launcher can help provide that extra bit of damage.

Cabot is the final Support character, and in the right hands, he can prove to be deadly to the monster. His main ability is the Damage Amplifier, that buffs the attacks from your teammates onto the creature. His Railgun can also pack a punch, while Dust Tagging can be great once the Trapper's Arena begins to lose its power.

With a bit of training, the Support characters can offer a serious improvement to the game, so make sure that you play them in a smart manner.
