14 DAY TRIAL // Evolve offers a wide array of roles for players to focus on and we've already gone through quite a lot of them. Now, it's time to examine the Assault class and offer some tips and tricks on how to make its impact even larger in the actual game.
Evolve rolled out last week and brought forth an interesting asymmetric competitive multiplayer experience, in which four hunters team up to take down one monster across a variety of maps, modes, and other such things.
We've already shared tips on how to be a great monster, a competent Trapper, a sneaky Medic, or a versatile Support.
Here's how to make the Assault class shine
Now, it's time to focus on the last hunter class, Assault, and share some expertise on how to make its impact even bigger during a regular Evolve match.
The shared ability across all three Assault characters is the Personal Shield. It should be used only when you're sure that the monster is going to focus you down. What's more, if you see the beast pin down one of your teammates, such as a medic or support, pop the shield and step between them to at least distract it for a little while.
Markov is the first available Assault character. He is quite versatile, as the Arc Mines provide good ways to surprise the monster, while the two guns, the Lightning one and the Assault one, provide great damage at different ranges.
Hyde is the second character you can unlock and his abilities mimic, more or less, those of Markov. His flamethrower is great up close, his minigun deals good damage at range, and his toxic grenades are very useful if the monster is stuck in one spot.
However, the most interesting character is the last one, Parnell, as his signature ability is called Super Soldier and allows him to deal way more damage and move faster with his combat shotgun and multifire rocket launcher. Combine him with a strong trapper and with Cabot's damage amplifier and you'll quickly take down any monster.
