As mentioned in a recent article related to the core components of the GNOME desktop environment, the last point release of GNOME 3.16 was released a while ago, but the GNOME developers are hard at work publishing maintenance releases for some of the major apps of the acclaimed project.

Therefore, we can report today that Evolution 3.16.3 has recently been released, and according to the changelog, which we have attached at the end of the article for reference, it fixes no more than 18 bugs that have been reported by users since the previous point release of the software.

Among the most important changes, we can mention the Contents entry from the Help menu will not open in the Yelp application, the "Replay to All" function will no longer change the Cc: and To: fields, message previews no longer display the Reply-to header as is, and backspace will no longer unindent multiple paragraphs that have been pasted.

Moreover, upgrading from a previous version of Evolution won't break the email signature images, a whitespace corruption has been addressed in the outbound email, the event numbers are now updated after deleting an event, and the text in the composer window will no longer ignore the desktop scaling factor.

Several other issues have been fixed in Evolution 3.16.3

Among several other issues that have been fixed in Evolution 3.16.3, we can mention a crash that occurred when attempting to wrap non-existing nodes, a crash related to the shell_source_invoke_authenticate_cb() function, an issue in the attachment-reminder component, and a problem with embedded inline images that pretend message attachments.

Last but not least, it is now possible to drag and drop contacts between address books, an option has been added to allow displaying of the Sign/Encrypt toolbar buttons in the composer window, email attachements are now parsed on demand instead of when opening the message, and the composer window now automatically saves content.

The Face header has been removed from the forwarded message body. Download Evolution 3.16.3 right now from Softpedia. If you're using GNOME 3.16, you will be able to update to the new Evolution version from the default software repositories of your GNU/Linux distribution.
