The development team at Tango Games, publisher Bethesda and the American Red Cross announce that they are joining forces in order to launch a new initiative called the Good Within, a blood drive that’s inspired by the upcoming survival horror title The Evil Within.

Those who attend the QuakeCon event will be able to donate blood on both Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas, in order to be rewarded with an official The Evil Within chill pack.

Pete Hines, the vice president of marketing at Bethesda, is quoted by the official announcement as saying that “QuakeCon has a great group of attendees who we think will want to help the community by donating blood. The American Red Cross is a terrific organization, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to QuakeCon.”

Jan Hale, from the American Red Cross, adds that summer months tend to be a difficult period for blood collection and that being part of QuakeCon gives his organization a great way to encourage gamers to donate.

The Evil Within will be launched in the fall of this year on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, current-gen consoles, and the PC, and it is designed to bring the survival horror genre back to its roots.
