Cinema Sins takes on Roland Emmerich’s apocalyptic movie, to hilarious results

Perhaps one of the most hyped movies of 2009 was “2012” from director and writer Roland Emmerich, which capitalized on the hysteria around the year 2012, when it was said the end of the world would come. Hint: it didn’t.

The film, starring big names like John Cusack, Danny Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Woody Harrelson, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt and Thandie, had a huge budget and a viral campaign meant to make it a box office success.

It fell very short of expectations and, to add insult to injury, it was also savaged by critics. Some of the reasons it was trashed by critics and fans alike are included in the video below, which is a fresh installment in the “Everything Wrong with…” series from Cinema Sins.

Previous videos highlighting the “sins” of other Hollywood productions were never longer than 7 minutes (and shorter than 2) but “2012” is setting a whole new record, because it takes the guys from Cinema Sins over 20 full minutes to list all of the movie’s 213 sins.

They range from inaccuracies in the timeline to the inclusion of painful clichés in the narrative and other type of goofs and, of course, they include plenty of spoilers. So, if you saw the movie (and were perhaps as disappointed as I was), take a break, sit back and enjoy this video!
