Mozilla has officially released Thunderbird 26 Beta 1, an email and RSS client, for all the available platforms, including Linux.
Thunderbird has been lacking a Beta branch so far, but that's all been sorted out with this new version. There are no official details as of yet, besides the download link, but Mozilla usually integrates a number of bug fixes and small features from one branch to another.
The good news is that you can download and run the new version without removing the old one and without having to install it.
If you get bored, you can check the list of changes, when it becomes available. For now you get just a 404 error. Don't forget to check out our review of the RSS function of Thunderbird.
