The Chinese Room's work is probably the most impressive use of CryEngine on the PS4 so far

Developer The Chinese Room has taken to Twitter to share some of the gorgeous scenery in its upcoming PS4 exclusive adventure game Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

The first-person adventure title is currently in development over at Dear Esther creators The Chinese Room and Sony Computer Entertainment Santa Monica Studio, and is powered by Crytek's CryEngine.

Over the past few weeks, The Chinese Room has shared a few amazingly looking in-game screenshots from the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive game, showcasing the incredible level of visual detail featured in the title, as well as what can be achieved on the device.

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture takes place in the quiet village of Shropshire, during the apocalypse, and is based on the stories of six characters, each of which telling their own version of the events as well as revealing information regarding their past, and each of them will be connected to certain landmarks within the world, which will evolve in certain ways as the game progresses.

The screenshots below represent probably the most impressive work any developer has ever done with CryEngine on the PS4, but it remains to be seen how well the actual game plays.

The game is currently scheduled to be released sometime during 2015, as one of the most anticipated independent titles on the PlayStation 4.
