A few years ago, analysts, tormented by the Internet's evolution trends, agreed that the number of web pages will be increased by the appearance of personal home pages, which cam be used by users to present themselves, and their friends and hobbies.
The good news is that they were right, the
bad news is that they were wrong about the name. Instead of personal home pages, users have now blogs, which serve the same purpose: to allow their owners to post information, thoughts, opinions etc. What you don't know is that every second, a new blog is born.
This is the conclusion reached by Technorati, a site which tracks blocks). At this rate, every 24 hours, there are 80,000 new blogs.
And since last month 14.2 million blogs appeared, compared to the 7.8 million from March, one could say that the users' appetite for making blogs is on the rise.
Another interesting fact pointed out by Technorati is that the blogs are not something temporary, 55% of them being active in the last three months, and 13% being updated weekly.
The most popular sites for blogs are Google's Blogger.com and MSN My Spaces.
So if you want to be hip, it's time you think about making a blog.
