Evernote, the team behind the popular productivity application for Android and iOS devices, has just announced the availability of a new major update that brings three interesting new features.

The latest update adds a full-featured Notebook Sharing feature that allows users to share notebooks directly from Evernote. Simply go to the notebook list and tap on the notebook you want to share.

However, Premium users can also allow others to edit their notes, or they can revoke this right whenever they feel like it. Obviously, an Internet connection is required in order to share notebooks.

With the notebook sharing feature users can also accept shared notebook invitations from other Evernote users, and view them within the application.

According to Andrew Sinkov, Vice President, Marketing, Evernote: “Today’s Android update (3.3) offers three new capabilities that are going to make a lot of people very happy. We’ve significantly improved notebook sharing, made Skitch a more integrated part of the app, and created a dedicated widget application for those that couldn’t install a widget previously.”

The next improvement of the update is referring to Skitch, which is Evernote's annotation application. Annotations on images are now easier to make, as the application allows users to tap and hold a picture inside the note or in slideshow view and edit it in Skitch.

As soon as the users are done with the annotations they can choose to replace the old picture or append the image to be added to the end of the note.

Last but not least, the Widget App can now be installed separately, regardless of where Evernote is installed. Until now, those who installed the Evernote on their SD cards would not be able to install the Widget.

New changes added by the latest software update also include:

- Create a public URL to share with everyone; - Share with contacts from the address book; - Various bug fixes and improvements. Evernote 3.3 is now available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 1.6 and up.
