One of the most popular note-taking applications for Android devices, Evernote has just received a major update to version 5.0 on Google Play.

First of all, the latest version of Evernote is now fully compatible with Smart Notebooks by Moleskine. In addition, there’s a new Document Search feature included, which allows users to search in attached office documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

However, the Document Search feature is only available for Premium users. Furthermore, several camera improvements have been added as well: “Page Camera mode beautifully digitizes photos of physical documents and pages.”

Last but not least, developers have added Shortcuts that will enable users to jump to notes, notebooks and tags that they access more frequently.

Evernote 5.0 is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 1.6 and up. Check it out here.
