Evernote has analyzed the user data leaked recently from Adobe’s systems and has found that some customers have been utilizing the same passwords for both services. The company has started notifying those customers, advising them to change their passcodes.

In the notification email seen by Graham Cluley, Evernote highlights the fact that the company is not connected to the incident and that its own systems have not been compromised.

Impacted customers are instructed to set strong passwords and enable two-step verification to protect their accounts.

Evernote is not the only company comparing the passcodes leaked from Adobe to the ones of its own customers. Facebook has done the same.

It’s uncertain how many people have been notified, but considering that millions of users have utilized easy-to-guess passwords such as “123456,” it’s likely that there are a lot.

Evenote should know about the importance of keeping users safe. The company also suffered a data breach earlier this year.
