The latest version of Evernote for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad is capable of snapping photos of business cards by simply pointing the device’s camera at them – no tapping required, according to the developers.

Evernote version 7.3.4 focuses on making business card scanning improvements. The update adds a no-tap camera mode with automatic business card detection, which allows users to just point the camera at the card and have the image stored in Evernote instantly.

It’s now easier to save business cards that you’ve scanned to your contacts and address book, and you can now send LinkedIn connect requests to the people whose business cards you’ve scanned for saving. The update further includes performance improvements and bug fixes, but Evernote fails to mention any specific bugs that have been squashed in this release.

Evernote 7.3.4 is localized in over a dozen different languages, including English, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

iDevice owners looking to download Evernote 7.3.4 must ensure they are running the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system (iOS 7.0). Hardware compatibility begins at iPhone 4, iPad 2, and the fifth-gen iPod touch.
