CPU, VGA and case cooling solutions are all very common nowadays, but it looks like Evercool figured it was high time a certain other sort of device, that being the router, got a cooling solution of its own.

Routers don't commonly have any sort of cooling solutions, but some of them actually do veer on the hot side during operation.

Still, this doesn't normally become an issue, although certain wireless ones may or may not end up dropping connections because of too high a temperature.

Regardless, the fact is that Evercool decided it had enough of a reason to develop a cooling solution for routers and IP sharing devices.

It is dubbed Dr. Cool and “was conceived with three features in mind: branding, creative aesthetics and effective cooling.”

One fan with a diameter of 8 cm is used, whose rotary speed is of 2,500 RPM (rotations per minute), give or take 15%.

Quite importantly, even while running at maximum speeds, the noise made by the plastic spinner (which has a long Life Bearing) never goes above 21 dBA.

Normally, one would pose the question of just what router models Dr. Cool is compatible with, since all of them have various sizes and shapes.

The answer is many, because the product has a retractable clip design. In fact, this clip design makes it usable for a bunch of other things, like netbooks, tablets, 2.5-inch portable storage drives (HDDs or SSDs) and many accessories.

Power is delivered to the newcomer through USB or DC power transformer.

“As its name suggests, Dr. Cool has multiple functions and just like a Doctor has extensive knowledge in the cooling field,” says the press release.

Evercool's press release says that Dr. Cool has a reasonable price that “gives it a very good cost/performance value” bot no exact price tag is actually mentioned.
