EverQuest Next is an ambitious MMO project and the development team at Sony Online Entertainment says that it is ready to create new game structures in order to give players freedom to explore the game world and modify it in any way they see fit.

David Georgeson, a game producer for SOE, tells Eurogamer that every world hosted by a server will be unique because players can influences its evolution in many small ways.

He states, “A lot of players will stick with their current community and friends, hang out that way and make it work. Some will want to flip from server to server, and we intend to make that a lot easier than it has been in the past - although we're not committed to details on that yet.”

Traditionally, MMOs tend to limit a player’s ability to move from server to server in order to make sure that populations remain stable in the long term and all players have a similar game experience.

The developer adds, “We want to make it really easy for players to move back and forth between the worlds so they can experiment and see different things. For instance, if you roll up a new world, it might start all the way back at the beginning of the storyline.”

EverQuest Next is an MMO that gives players options and freedom, when it comes to both the development of their character and the evolution of the game world and the various NPCs that inhabit it.

Players can even create their own towns and structures via a feature called Rallying Call, which will allow groups to work together, gather resources and defend the building site in order to get bonuses at a later date.

EverQuerst Next will also offer fully destructible environments when it launches on the PC in early 2014.
