Sony Online Entertainment has announced that its EverQuest II MMO will be receiving another expansion pack, called Destiny of Velious, set to be launched exclusively on the PC on February 11, 2011.

The new package will take up the game narrative from where it was left off by the Sentinel's of Fate content, with the focus for the player being on the announced end of the EverQuest universe, foretold by prophecy and linked to the power of two swords, Soulfire and Qeynos.

Destiny of Velious takes the players to a Great Waste, where huge dungeons are joined by dangerous beats and by complex quests designed to deliver one of the best MMO experiences out there.

One of the foes that groups of players will need to do battle with in Destiny of Velious is Rallos Zek, the God of War of the universe.

The developers are saying that Destiny of Velious will include more than a hundred of new weapons and items that can be used by any gamer to customize his character and decorate his in game home quarters.

There are also 300 new quests to be experiences with 10 instanced dungeons that need to be cleared of enemies and six new raid zones where groups from 12 to 24 players need to join forces to succeed.

The developers are also promising new flying mounts that will make travel across the new and old game zones easier than ever, allowing gamers to experience more content with less effort dedicated to just moving around.

Sony Online Entertainment has recently announced a new step in the development of the EverQuest franchise, called Next, designed to allow gamers to experience a parallel world of Norrath.

The new MMO is at the moment in the early stages of development and players of the two EverQuest titles that are now being played have been asked to offer their suggestions for the new project.
