Final Cut Pro users are ever more angry at the $300 upgrade Apple put out last week, slamming it for its limited functionality. In fact, it’s so limited that even 10-year olds can teach you how to use it, one disgruntled customer has found.

Writing over at Apple Support Communities, a user identified as stevo_chang has stumbled across a video of a 10-year old giving a tutorial on how to use FCP X (the footage is embedded below).

This person is clearly angry at Apple, as are many others, over the numerous omissions inside FCP X.

“Looks like Apple succeeded in simplifying editing for 10-year olds! Maybe the ‘X’ (pronounced ‘ten’) in FCPX is the minimum aged skill level required to operate FCPX?”, the sarcastic stevo_chang writes.

“If only this 10-year old could legally be paid for editing, we could call him a pro!”

He admits to insinuating that the skill level required for Final Cut Pro X is that of a 10-year old, “but isn't that the selling point that Apple is trying to push??”, the angry customer adds.

Jokes aside, stevo congratulates the kid (named Rico, according to his YouTube profile):

“But all joking aside, I really do have to applaud this young FCPX-user for his insightful tutorial and hope he continues to learn and grow into a professional editor and storyteller!”, he writes.

“I gotta admit - it IS refreshing to see that FCPX is captivating such a young userbase to explore editing. If this is the trend that Apple is going for -- I am all for it! I just wish I was 10 and as excited as this young editor-in-training about FCPX!”, he adds.

The tutorial, albeit concise, takes viewers through some of the basics of video editing.

Rico himself seems to suggest that he finds FCP X a barebones video editing solution.

However, Apple is reportedly planning to add multiple new features to the suite via future software updates.
