In a few hours, LG is going to host a major press event during which we’ll see the company roll out the next-big thing since the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Yes, we’re talking about the Korean phone maker’s G4 handset, which has been leaking for the past few months with extensive details.

We've heard about its incredible capabilities in the photography department and got to take a glimpse at its stylish leather-clad back.

So naturally, we’re expecting to see a premium, gorgeous smartphone go live today, one which a lot of customers will love. And LG seems so confident when it comes to the charms of its latest device that it made some pretty bold claims about it, a few hours before the big launch.

LG is betting big on the new G4

According to a report coming from the Korea Herald, an LG spokesperson said that even Steve Jobs would have appreciated the new G4.

An industry official also noted that “If Steve Jobs were alive today, even he would have liked the G4.” It’s an interesting point of view, given the fact that the LG G4 doesn't seem to be all that similar to the iPhone, from what we can tell.

Sure, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can be fitted with leather cases too, but apart from that, the two phones seem like totally independent products.

The new LG handset is expected to make a debut into the wild with a 5.5-inch QHD IPS capacitive touchscreen with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and 528ppi. Everything on board will be powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chip out the box, fitted with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The thing is, LG has been rumored to be working towards another flagship lineup, which will supposedly be placed above the G4. So the Korean phone maker is probably saving the services of the Snapdragon 810 for this particular device.

Going back to the LG G4, other features we expect to see embedded in this phone include a “DSLR-like” rear-facing camera with f1/8 aperture setting.

It remains to be seen if all these features manage to stir customers away from purchasing an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
