Professional eSports may not have the same history as soccer and gymnastics, but they definitely have a lot of players and fans, which is why there is an entire technological sub-industry that revolves around them. Tt eSports just unveiled the latest product in this field.

You only need to look at the company’s name, Tt eSports, to see that professional gaming is serious business.

Even setting aside the fact that StarCraft is pretty much a national sport in South Korea, having a company called “eSports” is more than enough to see how solid the foothold of professional gaming hardware has become.

This does put some pressure on companies to live up to the hype, though, and that's not getting any easier, since each new product means one less original idea for others to play with.

Tt eSports still managed something fresh, though, with the Ventus mouse. Despite how popular right-handed mice have become, with ridges and special palm rest designs, the company chose not to favor either hand.

Instead, the Ventus was made ambidextrous, just as easy and comfortable to use for right-handed as it is for left-handed people.

It's the insides that make it worth buying for pros, though. For one thing, Ventus has an AVAGO laser sensor with a sensitivity of 5,700 dpi. Not quite the biggest it could be, but very high still.

Another asset lies in the OMRON switches, which provide good but not overly loud click feedback, and should last for millions upon millions of strokes.

Furthermore, the newcomer benefits from 7 programmable buttons and an internal memory capable of storing five profiles, leading to 35 programmable macros.

Needless to say, the mouse has an internal LED lighting system as well, although it's not so much that as the way the light shines forth that stands out: the top of the mouse is perforated, with a hexagonal, honeycomb-like pattern punched clean through.

From above, you can see the battle dragon logo softly glowing in the dark, though that is not the only purpose of the design. The holes also ensure that your palm never gets too hot or sweaty. Such are the benefits of the Air-Through Ventilation system.

All in all, the Tt eSports Ventus ambidextrous professional gaming mouse has a price of $39.99 / €30 and will go up for order next month, August 2014. At this time, there seem to be no plans for models with LEDs colored other than red.
