Clooney is so cool he can make popcorn on the grill

Like most Hollywood A-listers who would not be caught dead endorsing X or Y product in the US or Europe because the association would damage their credibility and ultimately their reputation, George Clooney too knows that Japan is the place to go to make a lot of money with a silly ad.

Case in point, his endorsement for the Kirin green-label beer. Eater.com has a brand new ad from the campaign, showing him making popcorn on the outside grill (because he really is that awesome) and basically enjoying himself a lot thanks to his trusted Kirin beer.

There’s upbeat music playing in the background, and George tosses popcorn into the air because that’s basically what all guys with a can of beer in their hand and no one to nag them about beer bloat and public intoxication do.

It’s a silly ad, perhaps even sillier than the first one, which you will find embedded below. This one too ends with Clooney uttering a delighted “Kimochi ii” (“It feels good”) after he sips on Kirin.

As silly celebrity endorsements go, this is perhaps the silliest, but in the cutest way possible. Cristiano Ronaldo (not an actor, I know!) probably takes the cake for the most WTH commercial, after he agreed to endorse something called PAO Facial Fitness, a device that is meant to help you tone your facial muscles.

He also did an ad for it, which I will include below. In motion, this PAO thing looks like a bird desperately trying to fly away while you’re biting on its feet or tail, thus preventing it from getting away.
